Background:
I was born in Waikabubak, West Sumba district, East Nusa Tenggara province – Indonesia. I attended the Christian Primary School at Waimangura, finished in 1978 and then attended Christian Junior High School and then continued to Christian High School at Waikabubak and finished in 1984. I moved to Kupang, capital city of East Nusa Tenggara province, in 1984 to pursued BS degree in Socio-Economic of Agriculture at Nusa Cendana University and finished in 1989.
In got my first job as Assistance Researcher at Nusa Tenggara Agricultural Support Project (NTASP), under the RD&D – Agricultural Department. After serving around 6 years in Agricultural Department, I got opportunity to pursue my MS degree at The University of the Philippines at Los Baños (Major in Community Development, College of Agriculture and Minor in Agricultural Policy, College of Economics) and finished in 1997.
From Los Baños, I spent almost four years at Sumba as a Chairman of Upland farming Research Office and then six years at Assessment Institute for Agricultural Technology - West Timor, before I get opportunity through John Alwright Fellowship to pursue my PhD degree at UQ.
