Occasional Paper Series

The School of Natural and Rural Systems Management began publishing its Occasional Paper series in 1992. The aim of the series is to present papers of scholarly and professional merit that are relevant to the School's broad ranging interests in agribusiness, rural and natural systems management, natural resource economics and environmental tourism.The School encourages diversity of thought and viewpoint and encourages papers based on alternative paradigms. Recent papers are available on-line. Previous publications can be obtained from the School.

Refereeing Policy

All papers are refereed by at least two referees selected by the Editorial Board.

Copyright

Submission and acceptance of a paper grants the University of Queensland a license to publish. Copyright remains with the author(s).Papers published do not necessarily represent the opinions or policies of the University or the School.

Submission of Manuscripts

Three copies of manuscripts in the style of the publication are to be submitted for review.The final manuscript is to be submitted on disk in Word 97 or Rich Text Format, with a hard copy. Electronically generated illustrations and diagrams must be compatible with Word 97 and submitted within the body of the text and as separate files.

Style Guide

A Style Guide is available through the School Office. Alternatively, manuscripts may be presented without formatting, in normal style (no bold, no italics, no underlining etc.) except that heading levels are indicated after the heading in brackets.The Harvard referencing style and standards given in the Australian Style Manual, AGPS, Canberra, are preferred.

Abstracts and key words

Abstracts of up to 250 words and up to ten key words must accompany manuscripts.

Short title

As well as the title to the paper, a short title is required for reproduction in the header of the published paper. This is not to exceed 40 letters, including spaces.
