Why study at the School of Natural and Rural Systems Management?

As part of the University of Queensland you will be studying at one of the best universities in Australia and receiving a world class education. It is the oldest and largest university in Queensland and is a friendly, highly-respected place to study.

Job prospects are very good for the University's graduates. One of strengths of the school is its extensive industry networks. The School is unique in the Faculty of Natural Resources, Agriculture and Veterinary Science in that it has no specialist facilities. Students are encouraged to use industry networks to practice and develop their managerial skills.

Past students such as Karl Campbell found the industry networks useful as he looked for a job in his chosen field.

`It's what I've always wanted to do, and when I was advised by a National parks employee at a careers function that the natural systems and wildlife management program (now called Bachelor of Environmental Management in the field of Natural Systems and Wildlife) at the University of Queensland Gatton, had the best job outcome for graduates, I had to enrol.'

`My degree really proved itself in the field. It was very practically orientated for setting up a broad knowledge base on which to go out into management and management-based research.' (Karl Campbell 2001).

Another example of successful industry networks is evidenced by the 100% employment rate of our Agribusiness graduates. (see news story)

The School of Natural and Rural Systems Management produces highly employable graduates whose skills and qualifications are sought after in the industry.
